Diesel & Fuel Injection

The Babcock Diesel Engine Workshop is one of the largest, best equipped facilities of its type in the country. This modern, purpose built workshop occupies over 11,500 sq. ft of floor space and boasts an impressive array of test facilities, special tools and handling equipment. The Diesel Engine Workshop team consists of experienced and qualified fitters and can offer an integrated support service covering:

- Complete overhaul of diesel engines and major components;
- A dedicated, clean Fuel Injection Test Room capable of overhauling
- fuel pumps, injectors and governors;
- In situ Marine Diesel servicing;
- A large decarburising bath capable of full engine immersion;
- Overhead craneage capacity of 30 tons with a 7 metre height under hook.
- Ultrasound cleaning facilities.
- Turbocharger servicing and repairs.

The Diesel Workshop service is backed up by Babcock world class on-site engineering organisation which provides full CNC machining support in adjacent workshops. Technical support and design is available with a modern CAD system and a computerised inventory control system ensures all stores items are efficiently handled.

The fuel injection test room is fully equipped to handle all types of fuel injection systems and pumps. The injection area has the ability to analyse and test injectors and also has full needle grinding and nozzle lapping recovery facilities. Governor overhaul and test facilities are also available.

Although primarily focused on servicing the marine industry, support is also provided to land based generator sets and heavy earth moving machinery.
